We didn't get into this industry just when calibrations became profitable. Omega Technologies was founded in 2015 on accurate diagnostics. The hard kind. Engine management, body electronics, parasitic drains, module communication faults, post-collision electrical failures. The work that makes shops uncomfortable because there's no parts cannon shortcut.

Before ADAS calibration became a line item on every collision invoice, we were already doing the diagnostic work that most shops were sending out or guessing their way through. ADAS specialization came next. It was a natural fit, because calibrating a system you don't understand is just a different kind of guessing.

We don’t guess. We follow a process.

At Omega Technologies, every diagnostic job follows the Omega Method — an 8-step diagnostic workflow developed from nearly 20 years of real-world electrical diagnosis. It’s the same framework we fall back on whether the job is a straightforward check engine light or a cascading fault network across multiple control modules.

  • 1. Scan the whole car — not just the system with the light on. Every module, every fault. The real problem is often hiding one system over.
  • 2. Examine the system data — DTCs are the starting point, not the answer. We review live data and PIDs to see what the computer is actually seeing.
  • 3. Review your information resource — OEM service data, wiring diagrams, TSBs. The repair information exists. We use it.
  • 4. Check the basics — power, ground, reference voltage. Advanced faults are often caused by fundamentals that got skipped.
  • 5. Plan your course of action — a deliberate path to the root cause before touching anything.
  • 6. TEST. Don't guess. — Measurement over assumption. Every time.
  • 7. Process test results — translate data into an actionable repair. Not a theory. An answer.
  • 8. Fix it — and verify it — the repair isn't done until the system is confirmed to be working correctly under real-world conditions.
